CountryAirRadio.com is a growing online radio station based in Bear River, Nova Scotia, celebrating Country, Gospel, and uplifting music rooted in local people, places, and stories. We are seeking a self-motivated, commission-based Advertising Sales Representative to help local and regional businesses reach our engaged audience.
About the Role
This is a commission-only, independent contractor position, ideal for someone who enjoys relationship-based sales and supporting local businesses. You will be responsible for identifying prospects, presenting advertising opportunities, and closing advertising agreements for CountryAirRadio.com.
Key Responsibilities
- Prospect and approach small- to medium-sized businesses across Nova Scotia
- Promote digital advertising opportunities on CountryAirRadio.com and affiliated platforms
- Build and maintain strong relationships with advertisers
- Negotiate and close advertising agreements
- Coordinate with station management to ensure smooth onboarding of advertisers
Compensation
- Commission-based compensation (40-50% on Sales plus 10-20% on Monthly Repeat Business)
- Recurring commissions available on repeat or ongoing advertising packages (10-20%)
- No cap on earnings
Contractor Status
This role is offered strictly as an Independent Contractor:
- You control your own schedule and methods
- You are responsible for your own taxes and expenses
- No employee benefits are provided
Ideal Candidate
- Experience in advertising, media sales, or local business sales (preferred but not required)
- Strong communication and people skills
- Comfortable working independently and remotely
- Familiarity with Nova Scotia communities is a strong asset
- Passion for local media, music, and community storytelling
